WHAT WE DO · 03 OF 06

FPO
FOrmation

We help farmers form and govern Farmer Producer Organisations — from the first meeting to full NABARD registration and beyond.

ABPM provides complete end-to-end support for FPO formation across Mizoram. We guide farmer groups through the legal registration process, help build governance structures, develop business plans, and link each FPO to appropriate government funding schemes — including NABARD's 10,000 FPO Scheme, PODF-ID, and TDF. Our handholding continues for 5 years post-registration.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

Market Access Support Services

01

Legal Registration Support

We guide farmer groups through the complete FPO registration process under the Companies Act or Cooperative Societies Act — including documentation, filing, and legal compliance across all districts of Mizoram.

02

Governance Structure

We help FPOs establish a functional Board of Directors, shareholder structure, AGM processes, and internal audit mechanisms to ensure long-term organisational sustainability and credibility with funders.

03

Business Plan Development

ABPM develops tailored business plans for each FPO — covering production models, market linkages, financial projections, and scheme-specific requirements for NABARD and other government funding bodies.

04

NABARD Scheme Linkage

We identify the appropriate government scheme for each FPO — whether 10,000 FPO, PODF-ID, or TDF — and manage the full application, appraisal, and disbursement coordination with NABARD officers.

05

Ongoing Handholding

ABPM provides 5-year post-registration handholding for every FPO we
support — covering compliance, annual reporting, scheme renewal, financial management, and market access as the FPO matures.

06

Member Mobilisation

We facilitate community outreach, farmer awareness programmes, and member enrollment drives — helping groups meet the minimum member thresholds required for NABARD registration and scheme eligibility.

03

FPO is formally registered and linked to the appropriate NABARD or NCDC scheme. First disbursement facilitated.

ABPM-Supported FPOs

✓ Active FPO · NABARD

Darbilhi Tea Farmer Cooperative Society Ltd

Darzo, Muallianpui & South Vanlaiphai · Hnahthial District

ABPM supported the formation of the Darbilhi Tea FPO under NABARD's 10,000 FPO Scheme, bringing together 48 tea farmers in Hnahthial. The FPO received ₹15L in NABARD funding, established a collective processing facility, and is now processing 500kg of tea per day — with direct market linkage to buyers outside the state.

Five years of handholding from ABPM included governance training, financial management, annual audit support, and scheme renewal coordination.
